It started next door.
For years, I’ve owned a liquor store in Richland known for one of the deepest premium spirits selections in the region. When the building next door came up for sale, it came with a license. I figured if we’d spent all that time helping people find the perfect bottle to take home, we ought to give them somewhere just as special to pour it.
That's how Whiskey Thief was born.
We’re not just another bar. We’re a destination for spirit lovers — a place where a casual weeknight and a special occasion both feel right at home. Our wall houses one of the largest bourbon and whiskey collections in Southwest Michigan, carefully curated for the seasoned collector and the curious first-timer alike. Every bottle has a story, and we love sharing them.
Behind the bar, our in-house team crafts cocktails that honor tradition while pushing boundaries. In the kitchen, we turn out hand-pressed burgers, locally inspired plates, and our signature bourbon bread pudding. Real food, made to be paired, savored, and remembered.
